It’s a tough job reporting hard hiting subjects. keep up the good work. I see some missplaced frustration here, tho it’s understandable after the traumatic events that have hit Haiti.

What an intelligent response.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
NO!
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Well, I don’t know any Haitian in my circle who believes this to be an act of nature. Haitians have resisted occupation for many years, and many say this so-called earthquake is a way to weaken the population in order to avoid a mass uprising. Which is probably why they turned back tons of medical supplies.
And I don’t think there’s any misunderstanding. Me making comment does not mean they’re directed towards anything you said as a response.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
…a lot going on here. I care about any country being affected by the global eugenicist working on population control. That is my angle, so that it is probably why there was some misunderstanding here. I’m simply trying to show how governments use “disasters” to for that reason along with gaining more control/power amidst such crisis where fear and confusion are rampant.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I should’ve just been more clear by saying poverty stricken due to UN/US occupation, that’s what it basically is. I too think the earthquake is coincidental, the US happened to be having an exercise the day before for a disaster in Haiti also the UKs fleet/flotillas funding was cut for that area for the first time in 200 years so…
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Well there we go, I’m glad we cleared it up. I was certain you were referring to our little conversation here, but its cool. I think we both see eye to eye as far why Haiti has its problems, and it doesn’t include Haitians, but outside influences(US/UN/France, etc ) I understand how messed up it is that veterans are’nt even taken care of. I’m a former Marine and know how bad the VA system is. Again I’m sorry for calling it hellhole…
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
The current state of Haiti has everything to do with the HANDLING of this disaster. If Haiti was left alone, the whole fucking world wouldn’t have to travel there to save lives. And if New Orleans poverty problem was addressed, so many people wouldn’t have died. It’s the same thing. No difference whatsoever.
Even McKinney knows that. I read the article the same day it was published on the Black Agenda Report.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I was disagreeing with the other commenter who tried to downplay the severity of Hurricane Katrina. All I said is that thousands of Katrina victims are still struggling and are still homeless.
In other words, the US gov. can’t even take care of its own people, so I don’t expect them to take care of Haiti. As far as I’m concerned, it’s an occupation.
This so-called natural disaster is too coincidental, anyway.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Well I’m not going to go in circles with you all freakin night, you are preaching to the choir. Again I’m not dissagreeing with you, you are assuming so much about me it is getting rediculous now. Yes, big charities are shit scams, but there are plenty of people, Americans ad Haitians living in America who do a lot of good for Haiti. This point of the article was to compare the HANDLING, not the current state of the nation for christ sake! Do you understand that?
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Well thanks for assuming that I wasn’t aware of that, that’s probably why I was trying to explain myself before you threw another comment on here attacking me, but you beat me to the punch so. Do you think I don’t know that shit? Do you believe I’m not aware that we’re fucking with them and have been for at least a century? BTW what are you implying with your homeless katrina victims comment, I don’t understand the thrust of your argument here.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Charity my ass. “Aid” and “charity” is nothing but a mask that covers the grave injustice against the Haitian people. Kinda like Africa. I say justice not charity.
Two years ago the town of Gonaive flooded, and thousands lost their lives. Wyclef and some other “charity” groups raised millions for them, but where did all that money go because they never received it. Many of them were forced to leave the town and move to Port Au Prince and now many of them are dead.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Yes, the Haitians who have no choice but to escape their beloved country because they can’t feed their children due to economic sanctions enforced upon the country by the US – UN.
The fact is the US destroyed Haiti’s democracy.
In the meantime, veterans are all over NYC eating out of trash cans. This shouldn’t be happening in a super-rich country like the US. At least Haiti has an excuse.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Okay, your right I’ve never been there. I’m sure its a gorgous and beautiful place and before the earthquake was a mecca of magnificent people who have given much of their time and charity to the nation. Bless them. I don’t blame the Haitians for the state of the country before or after the earthquake.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
They have been dominated by outside influences for at least 200 years, that much I do know. I also know that the US has to turn around rafts full of Haitian refugees every year… I’m sorry I called it a hellhole, and yes I’m a very ignorant inconsiderate person who should be casted down to the flames of HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
This is all bullshit. No Haitian president has been able to carry out his duty without the approval of the US. This is where the corruption comes from. The US – France – Canada refusing to leave Haiti alone. Haiti’s democracy was destroyed in 2004 when Bush kidnapped the popular president at gun point.
BTW: Thousands of Katrina victims are HOMELESS. Look it up yourself.
Please don’t defend your lack of knowledge about this situation.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
You need to also understand that the Haitian economic structure is different from the US economic structure. There’ s no such thing as mortgage. Property taxes is about 40 bucks a year, and so is car insurance.
All those people who because homeless after the quake actually had regular homes, and were not living in mud huts like the media likes to claim.
And the notion that Haiti’s homes were flimsy is bullshit. The palace and cathedral also collapsed, and they’re old and well-built.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I take offense to you calling Haiti a hell-hole. That’s like promoting America buy using images of Detroit and claiming this is all of US.
The media deliberately portrays Haiti in such manner. If Haiti was a hellhole then the US would not have been after it for over a hundred fucking years.
Unless you’ve been to Haiti, you cannot call it a hell-hole. Despite the poverty, Haiti is overwhelmingly beautiful.
I guess even the so-called truthers can be as ignorant.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
I’m aware that Haiti and Katrina are not the same. I’m aware that Haiti was a hellhole before the earthquake and a hellhole after the earthquake. We have a corrupt government as well. Our government let people starve, riot then disarmed them and forced them into that stupid dome. FEMA was found cutting power/phone lines during the disaster, and many left the area because it was so bad. The point of the video is to show how helping the people are not priority, setting up telecommunications are.
March 15th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Haiti doesn’t have anything to do with Katrina. Haiti is a country with a corrupted gov & no infrastructure. Hurrican Katrina happened in the U.S. which had the infrastructure. Haiti on the other hand did not. Less than 2000 died in Katrina and survivors have a roof over their head, ate & can get a job and medical care. Haiti’s earthquake resulted in about 200000 death, 1.5 million people being homeless & struggling to get food and more are dying from sepsis due to lack of medicine. Stupid video
