This one of the best ever. I finished working a two day sale with him yesterday and he genuinely loves his job and enjoys people. Before each sale he runs around shaking hands and patting backs, not just for show but because he loves doing it. I was as giddy as a school girl getting to share a block with John.
most people bidding are used to buying at auctions, if a bidder is confused the auctioneer will typically pick up on it… the difference between a fast talker and a good auctioneer is clarity
Sometimes though, people can’t understand what you’re saying. By the time they figure it out, they don’t get their bid in, and it shoots to a higher price. It definitely sounds cool though…
I assume you know what an auction is. There is a rapid bidding process and the Auctioneer needs to acknowledge all the bidders. As he says, “Time is money”.

IM SCATMAN

That’s true. I’ve seen a few auctions though, where they had to start the bid over at the last price, b/c an auctioneer took a flinch for a bid. LOL!

what a dickhead
February 25th, 2010 at 12:03 pm
The reason we talk so fast is create a sense of urgency. It makes bidders think fast so they dont take all day. “Time is money”

I does, ahh I do. It’s an Art form and The Auctioneer also needs to go quickyl, to get through all the stock or items on sale.
